Resolved Question: What A levels should I choose if I want to do psychology at university?
I'm in year 11 and I chose the subjects biology, chemistry, mathematics and psychology, however I cannot study this combination of subjects at my school because it wouldn't fit the timetable. I have been told to drop one and choose another subject, but I don't know which subject to drop or what to choose. Any ideas? moreResolved Question: Help!!!! muslim girl, don't know what career path to choose?
Asalamualaykum warahmatilahi wabarakatu Firstly if you are non-muslim you wouldn't understand my request so pleas don't post things like 'screw your parents' or 'do whatever you want' I am 15 years old and going to college soon -My parents are old fashioned and expect me to pursue a career in medicine (doctor) but that's just not what really want -Some other guy told me that science is the only way out and you won't get far without science. -My dream is to have my own business that allows me to be creative -the problem is most of the things i enjoy are ha ram or not suited for muslim females (this is making me angry with my own religion and I'm afraid if i disappoint allah subhanawatallah) -I want my career to be flexible and allow me to be around my family and have a decent pay. -I really enjoy art -I also enjoy Drama, English, Media, physical education, psychology and music basically all the creative areas -I too enjoy mathematics but science is just so lame - i really don't want to do medicine because i know if i don't enjoy it then i will fail -also if I have studied biology, chemistry mathematics and english at A-levels can that give me a wide range of career choices to study at university and allow me to completely change career paths. -What I'm basically requesting is that if you could direct me to a career choice that would best suit my interests as i feel like time is running out for me theres nothing wrong with non-muslim opinions iam sorry for saying you wouldn't understand but that was just for those who don't moreResolved Question: Want to become a Doctor, are these A-Levels acceptable?

This september I am to start college and am to do 4 AS-level courses in Law, Mathematics, Psychology and English Literature. But as well as this I intend to do over the 2 years evening classes in Spanish, French and Italian which are all 1 year courses. But as well as this again I would like to do another A-Level in either Philosophy or sociology. Is doing 5 A-Levels and 2 evening classes a realistic and manageable work load? I think I can cope but because I don't really know what these courses fully entail in terms of how much work I have to put in I do not know exactly what to do. What I am really asking for is If you are doing or have done college please can you tell me how you found the work load and if you think my intended Schedule is realistically manageable Thankyou moreResolved Question: What qualifications do I need?
I want to become a Criminal Psychologist. I have impressive GCSE results &am currently doing my A Levels.I have just finished my AS exams which were English, Psychology, Law and Health and Social Care. I was told that subjects like Biology and Mathematics were necessary by a non-psychology figure, but when I consulted my psychology teacher, I was told that this was only the case if i wanted to study scientific/neurology and research based psychology - which I don't. My teacher advised me to choose Sociology as a replacement of Health and Social Care. This way, I'll have English (for the academic/analytical viewpoint), Psychology, Law (to help with Criminology side of things), Health and Social Care at AS Level (for the practical side of dealing carefully and sensitively with clients) and Sociology (for the theoretical view and I can also apply this in terms of how far society influences crimes) As a 2nd opinion, do these qualifications sound sufficient to qualify b4 a degree? moreResolved Question: HOW DO MY GRADES LOOK? I have zeroed in on the following subjects to study at 'AS' level (CIE): Business Studies English Language English Literature Economics Psychology Mathematics What do you have to say about my choice of subjects? Any recommendations/opinions are welcome. @ sunflower_silly : My school doesn't offer the combined English language and Literature 'AS' level course. I had considered History instead of Business Studies, but then I realised that I may not be able to tackle it very well not having studied it at 'O' level. Moreover, though I haven't checked the timetable, the timings of the History and Mathematics classes are probably clashing with each other. Another subject would be Sociology, but it didn't seem like a very scoring one. Will I be at a disadvantage if I take both Economics and Business Studies? @ cathrl69: Do we have to cut down to 3 A/A2 levels? I mean, is it a must? Can't we choose to keep 5 of them? moreResolved Question: What subject should I take at college? Need professional assistance!?

Hi, I guess this is two questions: I can't help but wonder if there is some type of fundamental psychological requirement needed in order for mathematics to "click" in order for someone to learn mathematics to begin with. I have a desire to learn mathematics, but I just can not seem to catch on to how mathematics equates on higher levels of complication. I believe that once I learn mathematics to its fullest potential, I will be able to accomplish nearly anything scientifically, theoretically or universally. I envision being able to understand so much more of the world around me... if I could only understand math. Can someone explain to me how I might begin to learn mathematics, when mathematics has never "clicked" for me and is it possible that it will "click" for me if I just keep on trying? Is my rationalization of envisioning my understanding of the world in a more heightend way accurate with regard to understanding mathematics? moreResolved Question: list sqv's qualifications, looking for advice?

In order to become a clinical psychologist, you must be registered as an eligible psychologist by the British Psychological Society. You can do this by taking the graduate diploma in Psychology to gain BPS accreditation. The entry requirements state that you can enter with any degree subject but that subject must include a minimum of 60 credits of psychology at honours degree level, and GCSE mathematics (Grade C or above). If I study social work as my first degree, would I be able to apply for this diplmoa. Social work does cover some aspects of psychology, but does it have a minimum of 60 credits of psychology? Yes, I know I can take psychology as a undergraduate degree, but I'm just asking...? moreResolved Question: Which 3 For A-Levels and 2 for As Levels?

How can I find out which GCSE and A levels are graded only with exams and not coursework? I want to sit some as an independant student, studying in the library from library books. I did it a few years ago and passed, but now am having trouble getting the above info. I plan to enter them in 2008. Tentative subjects are: Geography Psychology Mathematics Religious studies ... and a science, possibly physics. I looked at the aqa and edexel sites, but the course books aren't wholly clear if they're exam only or not. Also, last time I did this was at Northampton College, but they're not taking independant students for the exams anymore, even if it's zero coursework. Where else might I sit them? I, er, don't have a permanent address if that makes any difference. moreResolved Question: What of this courses should i study to become (eventually) a judge?

I would really appreciate some help or advice from anyone involved with recruitment as I'm almost at my wits end with regards to finding work. Over the course of the last year, I must have applied to (and I'm honestly not exaggerating) around 250 different jobs. The only work I've actually been able to obtain has been temporary, three month employment which is of little use as clearly the idea is to gain permanent employment somewhere. A very (brief) background of myself; A Levels in maths, applied maths, physics and psychology. Currently completing my degree in mathematics via part time distance learning. Have always worked, even throughout school and college. I'm well presented, articulate and well spoken. I even used to have a small business making and selling computers before I went to University. Here's my CV (http://www.geocities.com/craig_hll/cv_updated_12_09_2006.pdf) I believe (just about after so much rejection) that I'm very employable, and yet over the ... ... over the course of the last year I've been turned down for jobs in the following; Data entry Junior web developer Office junior Trainee laboratory technician Endless admin jobs Computer helpdesk Data analysis Trainee accountant this is just to name a few. If anyone could give me any advice about where I may be going wrong, I would appreciate it ever so much as it's really starting to knock my confidence now, all these rejections from jobs I know I could with relative ease. Cheers. By the way, on the link to my CV, removed the final ")" otherwise it wont work, my mistake. moreResolved Question: Difficulty finding a job (revised)?
I had a bit of a rant on here a few minutes ago saying I couldn't find a job and someone quite rightly pointed out I hadn't listed any qualifications / experience, so here goes; 9 GCSE's (A - C, including English, Maths Double Award Science) A Levels (Maths, Applied Maths, Physics, Psychology) Further (Two years of MPhys Theoretical Physics degree, am currently completing BSc in Mathematics part time via distance learning) Have experience in Sales, Customer Service, Office work, Admin, Data Entry and Purchase Ledger. I've been going for run-of-the-mill basic jobs (Admin etc) to see me over until I finish my studies, no-one wants to know. I'm looking to move to Birmingham where I assume there will be more job choice (or at least some), but still need work in the meantime (in Kidderminster, Worcestershire area). Exhausted all online sites, Job Centre yields nothing, I have simply run out of ideas. moreResolved Question: Are A Levels simply a passport to University?
I've got A Levels (Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics and Psychology) and due to being forced to leave the original University I started after year two, I'm currently completing a BSc in Mathematics with the Open University. My question is this; "What job can I do whilst I'm waiting to graduate which makes use of my A Levels?". I've tried all the websites I can think of, and all the jobs either required simply education upto G.C.S.E standard, or degree standard, there seems to be nothing for people who either got their A Levels and left it there, or are in my position. As the topic states, is the only use of A Levels to get into University? morePsychology Mathematics News

Worshiping Women , the exquisite exhibition at the Onassis Cultural Center in Manhattan, aside from a few statues and steles, is about containers and therefore containment. But it is about woman as vessel only in the most metaphysical and exalted sense.
