Resolved Question: Can a real estate agent refuse to take an offer from another agent?

Found a place I want, the sellers agent showed it to me, decided to make an offer and called my agent. The sellers agent than called back and said he won't take an offer from an agent other than himself. He works for a large real estate company. Is this legal? I'm not comfortable with it - it sounds fishy! This occurred just outside Vancouver, BC.  more

Resolved Question: New condo owner in Vancouver(previously tenanted) how long do i legally need to live in it?

In November 07 I purchased a small downtown condo in Vancouver. The condo was previoulsy tennated, and i was told by my real estate agent that legally i cannot rent it for a period of one year as it was purchased while while tennated.(someone was renting it at the time of pruchase) The closing date for the sale is Feb 1st. Reccently i was offered an excellent international job starting in July 08, and i would like to take it. Is it legal for me to rent out the condo while i'm gone? Are there any options for me? My salary would not be good enough to pay the mortage on the empty condo while i'm gone. selling is an option, but i would loose lost of money in the sale, from real estate agents, to closing costs on the mortagage. I bought at a high price as the market is heated. dont know how much more i can sell it for.  more

Resolved Question: Greater Vancouver Real Estate listings. Where is the best place to look?

Tried mls.ca but this lists multiple listed properties. Others listed by single agents and by owners are harder to find. I'm looking for something inexpensive also. Driving around, by agents and properties is not the best. Where else on the net might I look? Also publications maybe you know about and I don't. I've seen a couple of real estate mags. Suggestions appreciated Wanted condo to buy, Metro Vancouver, BC, $170,000 to $200,000 range.  more

My husband is being transfered from Livermore, CA to Vancouver. We have a home in Livermore that we need to sell. We are looking at all of the options, FSBO, Help U Sell, etc. We do need to make as much of a profit on the home as possible as the move will be very expensive for our family. If you are an agent or know of somebody who is that is willing to take a 3.5% commission, please answer this question & leave me your email address.  more
